Rules for Admission

BGS Central School provides uninterrupted education through common syllabus, text books and a common medium of instruction to the children of central/state government employees including civil services, defence, paramilitary and common public. The sole criteria for fresh admission to any class is based on the child qualifying in the admission test.

Method of Admission :

An admission test would be conducted for admission to classes 1 to 10 in the first week of April for the academic year commencing from 1st April of the year. Admission from class 2 to 9 is made on the basis of availability of seats. Registration of applications is made at a specific time in January. The schedule for admission is to be ascertained from the Principal.

Eligible Age :

A child must be at least 5 years old on 31st March 2014 and should not be over 7 years on 31st march 2014, the upper age limit being 5+2 years as on 31st March. The age limit is reckoned in the same way for all other classes.

Admission to Class 10 :

As the syllabus at Secondary level is of two years integrated course, no admission shall be taken in class 10 directly.

Provided the Student :

  1.  Has completed a regular course of study for class 9 from an institution affiliated to this Board.
  2.  Has completed a regular course of study for class 9 and has obtained minimum Grade D in the five subjects (excluding the 6th additional subject) under Scholastic Area A as well as grades in subjects under Scholastic Area B under the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation scheme in class 9 examination conducted by an institution affiliated to this Board and migrating from/within one city/ State to another only on the transfer of the parent(s) or shifting of their families from one place to another, after procuring from the student the Report Book/Grade Sheet and the Transfer Certificate duly countersigned by the Board.
  3. Has completed a regular course of study for class 9 and has passed class 9 examination from an institution recognized by/affiliated to any recognized Board in India can be admitted to this school only on the transfer of the parent(s) or shifting of their families from one place to another, after procuring from the student the Grade Sheet and the Transfer Certificate duly countersigned by the Educational Authorities of the Board concerned.

Note: Admissions to class 10 would be confirmed after obtaining post facto approval from the Board within one month of admitting the student.
